Retro5Games now wants to stand on its own two feet, meaning they plan to develop their own operating system on which Retro5Games' games will run, and which will even be free for everyone.

Retro5Games originally didn't want to make fan games, and it's still undecided. However, Retro5Games was considering a small collaboration with Sega on the fan game, and even though it's not confirmed yet, there could be a very interesting new Sonic game in the works, developed by Retro5Games for Sega fans!

At the moment, it's only being developed for Linux PC, but there may be a Windows version later.

It's not confirmed yet, though, because Retro5Games wants to develop specifically for Linux gamers.

Future Retro5Games games will soon be officially released only on SteamOS.
